Real Questions, Real Answers: A Kratom Conversation with ETHA Customer Eric Platt

Companion Blog to Episode 108 of Live Fully with Kratom Podcast
At ETHA, we believe in and strive for honesty and transparency when it comes to kratom. What is kratom, how does it work, and the real experiences of the people who use it. In our latest Episode 108 of our Live Fully with Kratom podcast, we welcomed ETHA customer Eric Platt to share his journey with kratom and give us a glimpse into his exciting plans for the future.
Eric isn’t just a customer, but a curious and driven individual, whose passion and research has led him to become a thoughtful voice in the kratom community. In this episode, he brought big questions and a healthy dose of skepticism, challenging us to go deeper into topics many kratom users wonder about. We share a couple of snippets with you below.
What is in ETHA kratom?
Eric brought up Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and why multiple ETHA blends might share the same lab results. ETHA explains our base blend approach. We use a foundational kratom, and blend in additional specific alkaloids for targeted effects that particular blend is intended to affect. ALL ETHA kratom is lab tested multiple times to ensure cleanliness and safety, and ETHA's unwavering dedication to quality, consistency and safety, combined with full transparency, is how we build and keep trust with our customers. Every product has a QR code that leads directly to OUR website where all COAs are made readily available.
Science vs. Marketing: Can they co-exist?
Eric raised a great point that kratom science though growing and improving, is still evolving and relatively unexplored. How can ETHA responsibly promote kratom without crossing ethical lines or making unsupported medical claims? It is important to note that at ETHA, we always aim to walk this line with utmost caution and care. We ourselves do endless research, participate in studies, attend conferences, and offer only research-backed insights while we stay grounded in what we actually do know. And if we do NOT know...we will tell you as much, and then go research it!
Where does ETHA kratom come from?
ETHA has long-standing, trusting relationships with specific kratom growers in South East Asia. We only source from this group of trusted partners. A couple of years ago we also began cultivation of kratom in our U.S. greenhouses in Fallbrook, California. Whether the kratom comes from abroad or comes from our own greenhouse, we still follow the strict protocols of quarantining the incoming kratom and then triple testing it to ensure quality and cleanliness before we let it enter our warehouse. We also make our live kratom plants available for purchase so you can keep this beautiful botanical in your home.
Talking About Kratom
One of the trickiest parts of kratom? Explaining it to friends, family, or healthcare providers who’ve never heard of it or misunderstand it completely. Let's be real...that's like most of them. Eric shared his experiences navigating these tricky conversations and Alex and Eric delved deeper into how to have these conversations, stay respectful, educational and effective. Kratom isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s a complex botanical with real potential but also real questions and a lot of unexplored territory. That’s why at ETHA, we’re committed to transparency, education, and open honest dialogue. Huge thanks to Eric for bringing such thoughtful curiosity to this episode.
Lastly, Eric touches on his exciting plans for the future. Eric currently runs a website dedicated to...you guessed it...kratom. Kratom research, kratom articles, kratom experiences, and even, where to get the best kratom. He is working on turning his kratom experiences, kratom research, and all his acquired kratom knowledge into a full book!
You can find his website here: The Book of Kratom. As we learn more details about the book we will update you all as well. Stay Tuned!
