    I’ve never tried the stuff

I thought ETHA’s Sunset was great for sleep, but Midnight dream is even better. I getting such crazy amounts of sleep and feeling so rested the next day. Like, I’m a new person! So much less annoyed with the world. And that’s really important given how crazy the world is these days. Midnight Dream is my new favorite.

I saw the founders of the company on a live broadcast on Facebook. They talked a lot about this kratom blend. Since I have slight sleep issues, I decided to try it. Got a free sample of it first. I got the best sleep in a long time. Just bought a 500 gram pouch of tablets.

  4. This product seems interesting to me with the inclusion of Gaba. Although My concern is through my studies I’ve realized that gaba does not cross the blood brain barrier, and thus the effectiveness of it on sleep is concerning to me.
I sometimes have a difficult time falling and staying asleep with other Kratom products because of their energizing properties.
So as much as I commend Etha for being progressive with this incredible tree that grows in Indonesia and other countries. I am also hoping to be able to use the products without detrimental effects on sleep and quality of life.:)

    • The ETHA team has had a lot of success with MidNight Dream thanks in part to the inclusion of GABA. We’ve done several sleep studies and verified significant improvements in deep sleep. You bring up a good point about kratom. Much of the kratom that is sold is focused on increasing energy. That is because most vendors obtain their kratom from similar regions in Indonesia with higher levels of mitragynine. Mitragynine is a vasodilator so it can make it harder for someone to sleep. At ETHA, we harvest kratom from several regions including one that produces kratom with very low levels of mitragynine. This kratom is what we use in our ETHA NightFall kratom. It is also what we use in our MidNight Dream Blend. The combination of this kratom with GABA has substantially helped us improve our sleep. We hope you get the same experience. Please share once you’ve tried MidNight Dream Blend.

      • Thank you for your reply and helpful commentary but if you can speak to your thoughts on Gaba’s ability or “not” to cross the BBB, hence it being effective for deep sleep. 🙂 thank you

        • There is no clear evidence one way or another in terms of GABA and the blood brain barrier. There is research to show that GABA does and does not pass the BBB. The most common study that points to not being able to pass the BBB is from the 1950s and has issues that have been refuted. More recent studies in the 2000s show more positive findings. It is important to note that GABA can have an impact through other indirect means such as through the enteric nervous system. Here is a good summary on the research done on GABA and the blood brain barrier – https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4594160/. The best thing to do is try for yourself. That’s what we did and have found great benefits.

I had similar thoughts initially regarding GABA crossing the blood brain barrier for effectiveness. I’ve ordered a few batches of this blend and have noticed help with falling asleep. That being said, I also take other supplements throughout the day, one of which is a low dose of Niacin (Vitamin b3) flushing. Albeit I take that to help other things I take, as Niacin can help increase different supplements of medicines cross the BBB. Unfortunately, Niacin flush can be very irritating to your skin and can be very uncomfortable for some people. I’ve used a smaller dose of Niacin when I know I need to use this blend, so I prepare ahead and take it with the blend roughly an hour before I want to be asleep, all of the negative side effects of flushing are gone for me by that time. I want to make it clear, I am not a medical professional and please feel free to remove this post if it breaks any rules. Everyone’s body is different, and this has worked for me, but I will not encourage anyone to introduce new things into their wellness plans. I just wanted to share something that has worked for me.

I have mild insomnia made worse by my love of YouTube in bed. Noticed ETHA made this Midnight blend of kratom and gaba. I feel super this morning for the first time. I’m not sure if I slept longer last night, but I defnitely feel more rested today. Some of my pain problems are better too. So far, this blend is the only thing that has helped me with my sleep. I’ll continue to use it every night and repost my experience. so far so good. Thank you Etha for making this blend.
