Since ETHA's inception, over the past 8 years, Alexander has led ETHA, along with co-founder Victor Chung, with a mission to provide high-quality kratom products and to promote informed, responsible kratom use. Through tireless work in research, community engagement, and regulatory advocacy, Alexander has helped establish kratom as a widely respected medicinal botanical within the natural medicine and wellness communities.

Alexander struggled with chronic pain since high school. During a particularly challenging five-month pain episode, his then business partner, and now ETHA co-founder, Victor, shared a podcast about kratom — a tea made from the leaves of a jungle tree, known for helping with pain relief, mood enhancement, focus, and fatigue.
To both Alexander’s and Victor’s surprise, kratom was the only truly effective remedy providing immediate and significant relief for their pain. However, they quickly realized that kratom’s effects could be incredibly inconsistent. The tea’s naturally bitter taste and varying effectiveness were often frustrating.
Fueled by his passion for product engineering and background in measurement systems, Alexander embarked on a journey of personal experimentation, collaborating with third-party labs and universities. This led to the development of ETHA’s 100% Whole-Leaf Kratom Tablets and a comprehensive Testing and Labeling Protocol. ETHA Kratom Tablets became Alexander’s preferred way to enjoy kratom, and ETHA’s strict protocols have set a new standard for consistency and safety in the kratom industry.
Beyond ETHA, Alexander has supported the AKA and other companies in implementing cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) processes and ETHA’s testing protocols, helping elevate self-regulation in the kratom industry. This work is crucial for consumer protection and advancing the Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA).
Alexander continues to provide public testimony to policy and lawmakers, advocating for safe and accessible kratom and promoting essential regulatory practices for businesses. In the Summer of 2023 Alexander even traveled to Eastern Europe to speak at a media event promoting kratom regulation rather than an outright potential kratom ban in the Czech Republic.
